DBM Reboot, What Do You Expect?
Hey, I’m planning to reboot this DailyBlogMoney blog and make it active in the New year 2016. As a regular or ‘interested’ reader of DBM (Daily Blog Money), I like to know your suggestions and expectations that you need from this blog (from me).
I know this blog is being idle for quite some time, I do not write new posts frequently or reply your comments. For example, I have published only 6 posts in 2015. I feel guilty and even shame of my silence on this blog. I’m going to make few changes and be active here. But as a reader of this site, I really appreciate your expectations and requirements from this blog.
Basically I started this blog back in 2010 to share my blogging knowledge and activities. It was an interesting time, because I was learning lots of new tips/tricks in blogging and growth of traffic and earnings were exciting. So, it used to be an interested period for me to share my experience through DBM. I got good response and almost built a great community around DBM. Unfortunately day by day things started changing when nothing interested or ‘worth to share’ happened in my blogging career recent years.

How to Get Stunning Blog Name Ideas Easily for Your New Blog
Blog (or website) name is something very important you need to finalize before registering the new domain. Having an eye catching but still meaningful blog name is always a great start for a new online business. Let me give few ideas and resources you can use to get blog name ideas easily. There are people running successful online business/blog with different domain name and blog name (like a brand). That is not an bad idea and it can work well too, but in my opinion having the same blog and domain is always good. Practically it will be difficult to match the both names and register the domain name what we want.
Let’s look at one of the famous blog, labnol.org. I’m a great fan of Amit and his blog. The blog name is ‘Digital Inspiration’ but the domain name is labnol.org. Though I do not know the meaning of labnol (domain name), but his blog name Digital Inspiration’ makes sense. So this could be an excellent example that you can run a popular blog/website in different domain and blog name.
But here we will be trying to match the domain and blog name same, and find out how to get stunning blog name ideas.
Simple Tips for Blog Name Ideas
You have two options here.
1) Include a word which is related to the topic/niche
2) Start a blog in common name (which doesn’t give any idea of the topic) – I’m not going to show anything about this model. Because common name is something you can set easily. Even your name, city, village name or even abcd.com will work.

Do pick a word which can give the meaning of your blog content by just seeing the domain name. If you are going to write about ‘cars’, make sure to include ‘car’, ‘cars’ or something related to it, like ‘vehicle’, or ‘road’. That would make sense. Obviously you can’t write about cars in a ‘Windows OS’ blog or domain name, right?
I’m not going to confuse you with so many options and methods to get blog name ideas, so let’s start.
First thing you have do is, obviously get the topic you are going to write on your blog. Let’s say, it’s is about ‘money’.

These single word domains mostly would have been registered already. That is the reason we will be needing the second word for our blog name.
It is your choice to add the second name. You can think the relevant word or the purpose of your blog to add the second word. As we are assuming ‘money’ is our primary content, but what will be the type of content?, are you going to give tips, advice, making methods, saving ideas or even stealing money…etc? then add these words with the first name, for example, moneytips.com, makemoney.com.

We all start our first blog with lots of hopes without any prior experience. We will be learning blogging methods and SEO with this first blog, but most of the time the first blog fails without serving our purpose. Unfortunately we stick with the same first blog and try our best to improve or bring it back to the normal level. Sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn’t. In my opinion, if you put the same effort (which you are trying to bring back the old blog) and the learned lessons on a new blog/domain name, that will work faster and meet your requirements. Once your blog lost the reputation and credit from online world, mainly from the search engines like Google and Bing, then it will be tough job to bring back to good position and prove that your blog is great. Instead, you could start a new great blog and prove your self in making decent passive income by blogging.

I’m assuming your blog will start making 1$ for a day from the 4th month. Practically an 15% increase of traffic and earning monthly is very much possible. There are people double the complete traffic and income in 3 months, but we are not targeting that much. 15% monthly increase is very much possible. So, below table and chart can give an good idea about your new blog for next 2 years (24 months).

The final calculation indicates your new blog would earn around 3564$ by end of 24th month assuming it is start making money from 4th month in the rate of 1$ per day only. Don’t you think it is realistic? definitely it is possible!

3) Let Us Do Further Math
Ok, how to make 1$ per day from 4th month? I think that is the first question will come into mind and that is the starting point. Here is my calculation and assumption.
2.5$ RPM is a normal (and good) rate you can expect from Google Adsense. That means, for every 1000 page views your blog will make 2.5$. But here our target is 1$ per day, so your blog needs around 400 page views daily. Out of 400 PVs, it must have 70% of traffic from Google, that is equal to 280 PVs from search engines (Google) per day.
280 PVs from Google daily after 3 months…… don’t you think it is possible? Believe me, if you blog properly by producing useful content to the readers in your first 3 months, you can go far better than this target or even your single post may bring more than 280 PVs daily.
4) More Math….
So, our target is to get 400 PVs per day. Let us assume you can write 3 articles per week. Again I’m discussing this realistically and not putting more pressure on you. You do not need to publish 2 articles per day (that is what most of the new bloggers think) on this new blog. 3 Articles should be enough for a week. In blogging always quality wins over quantity. So, in the first 3 moths you would have published 36 articles. These 36 articles should bring around 400 PVs per day, so one article should bring around 11 page view per day, tell me frankly what do you think now?
Can’t your one article bring 11 page views per day? in case one article fails, don’t you think your another articles will cover up the total page view requirement? I’m sure it is possible.

4) Keep Another Blog For Testing
If your current blog is doing fine, that’s great leave it as it is. But your new blog will give some more opportunities to test or experiment new techniques, new SEO methods and money making ways. It is not recommended to play around or try something new with your existing good working blogs. So, better to have a second blog which will allow you to try new ways to increase the traffic and income.
5) Recovery is difficult and Time consuming
If your blog has been punished by Google by their algorithm changes, then it will be a tough and time taking job to recover from it. You may need to wait and depend on Google till the next update ( that is also not sure whether it will be favourable for you).
Instead, you could build a new blog without doing the same mistakes and gain the traffic quicker than recovering your affected blog.

The Real Issue in Making Money with Google Adsense, Why you are Struggling?
No doubt, Google AdSense is one of the famous money making program used by most of the bloggers. It is my main income source and working fine too. Daily I get few emails asking, or rather complaining about low earnings from Google Adsense. Sometimes, I really surprise to see their traffic and AdSense earnings because they are in lower side. The common issue I’m seeing on most of these blogs is ‘lack of understanding about adsense’. Here are few my suggestions to correct these mistakes and make good money from Adsense.
I already covered several Google adsense tips and suggestions here at this page. Because of your blog is making less earning, you can’t complain Google or their product. Until you change something on your blog and understand clearly about entire process of how Google adsense is working, I doubt you can make good money from it.
The Facts You are Struggling to Make Good Money from Google Adsense.
1) Lets forget ad color, placement, size, even traffic. Before these all, just ask an important question to your self, ‘Am I writing something on my blog which is profitable or having higher CPC or more advertisers are promoting their products on it?’.
AdSense is not only about you and me (bloggers), it is mainly for advertisers and companies who are selling and promoting their products. Understand it first!.
I highly recommend to read earlier post how Adsense works and infographic in it.
Come on guys!, if you are writing about Indian college result announcement blog, how you can expect good income from Adsense?, Sorry, I’m not blaming India or Indian colleges, but please understand how many companies will be promoting their product on the topic you write ‘Indian college result’?…
The main reason why your blog is not making money from adsense even though you have good traffic, is ‘topic’.
Always keep in mind, your topic should be profitable and have more advertisers who are selling their products or services. May be your topic can drive good traffic, but if it is not profitable, then no point in having more traffic.
For example, if you take my tech blog I mainly write about ‘virtualization’ and other aspects in technology. I know it is difficult to get more traffic since it is already having more competition and not famous ( I meant not everyone know it) like smart phones or Operating Systems. But I’m splitting the main ‘virtualization’ topic in to sub categories and writing about it. The main reason I selected ‘Virtualization’, its having higher CPC in Google adsense that’s because of more competition among advertisers on this topic.

2) Traffic
I’m not talking about number of traffic here, it’s about traffic type and location. To make good money from Adsense you must have daily new traffic (visitors) and the traffic should come from USA, Europe, Australia etc wherever advertisers target their products.
You must have daily new visitors, preferably by search engines. Also, they should come from country territories I mentioned above. In my opinion regular repeating and social networking site visitors do not work well for Adsense. Your blog is not going to show same ads everywhere in the world. For Indian users it will be different than USA victors.
For example, an USA company which is delivering goods locally will not show their (or target) ads in Sri Lanka, its simply waste for them. Like that there are plenty of adsense (adwords) business targeting these countries than whole global.

It was ordered by country earning. Even though my blog received 2nd highest page views from India (as per adsense report) but earning is very less and it was at 6th place. The RPM is very less compared to other above countries.
You know why?, the reasons I said above.

These are the very basic facts you must follow to get good Google adsense income. Once you fix these issues and build content considering these points, then concentrate on ad size, colors placement and other tweaks.

For example, if you take my tech blog I mainly write about ‘virtualization’ and other aspects in technology. I know it is difficult to get more traffic since it is already having more competition and not famous ( I meant not everyone know it) like smart phones or Operating Systems. But I’m splitting the main ‘virtualization’ topic in to sub categories and writing about it. The main reason I selected ‘Virtualization’, its having higher CPC in Google adsense that’s because of more competition among advertisers on this topic.

2) Traffic
I’m not talking about number of traffic here, it’s about traffic type and location. To make good money from Adsense you must have daily new traffic (visitors) and the traffic should come from USA, Europe, Australia etc wherever advertisers target their products.
You must have daily new visitors, preferably by search engines. Also, they should come from country territories I mentioned above. In my opinion regular repeating and social networking site visitors do not work well for Adsense. Your blog is not going to show same ads everywhere in the world. For Indian users it will be different than USA victors.
For example, an USA company which is delivering goods locally will not show their (or target) ads in Sri Lanka, its simply waste for them. Like that there are plenty of adsense (adwords) business targeting these countries than whole global.

It was ordered by country earning. Even though my blog received 2nd highest page views from India (as per adsense report) but earning is very less and it was at 6th place. The RPM is very less compared to other above countries.
You know why?, the reasons I said above.

These are the very basic facts you must follow to get good Google adsense income. Once you fix these issues and build content considering these points, then concentrate on ad size, colors placement and other tweaks.

Improved Google Adsense Support, Thanks to Them
I’m a Google Adsense publisher from 2008 and it’s one of my main income source. The major issue most of the publishers used to face in earlier time was support. Things have changed now, I’m not sure about other all publishers regard this, but currently Google Adsense support has been improved very well. I was contacted by them few times and the experience was impressive and pleasant at all occasions. Also I contacted my account manager and she helped me to solve a payment related issue easily. In every occasion they helped me to solve major issues and boost the income.

There are plenty of users complain that their accounts got suspended for unknown or no reasons and most of them could not recover back. Usually when Adsense system detects anything violate (continuously) their TOS, the account would be suspended that was what used to happen earlier. Thanks to Adsense now, they have a system to notify the publishers or suspend the account temporarily until it got resolved by web master. But if you have a dedicated account manager,she/he will notify the violation and help you to resolve, don’t you think its great?
Why and When Google Adsense Contacted me?
1) They have contacted me with the suggestions to improve the earnings which helped me to boost the income.
2) This is really important – When there was an Adsense violation in my website, they contacted me to resolve it immediately with the suggestions. If it were like old time, my account might have been suspended.
3) They have contacted me to improve visitors experience of my website by doing few changes in theme.
These incidents and personal type of support increased my trust and relationship with Adsense and Google. I’m very much comfortable and feel safe by using Google Adsense while meeting their policies and TOS.
